None of my employees does heavy lifting anymore.

Even the livery alone: an unmistakable "Monster" lettering in garish neon green adorns the cab. The power that the eponymous energy drink promises is something Michael Bürsner already has in his blood: raised on his parents' farm, he has always been fascinated by machines. And when he set up his business ten years ago, the first major purchase was a telescopic handler with a six-metre reach. However, it quickly became redundant and was replaced by an eleven-metre model. And because Power-Michael and his company were already well known, he has now followed up with the Unimog and a 26-metre crane. The demands on his company grew ever more exacting.

"By now word has got around that my employees hardly have to lift heavy objects anymore. Boilers, radiators, building materials — everything is moved by the crane. Because of that I even receive applications from excellent skilled workers," enthuses the master plumber and heating and ventilation specialist. With his crew he repairs chimneys, installs photovoltaic systems and delivers bathtubs and whirlpools — all on the hook of his black 'monster'. The Unimog implement carrier, with its small turning radius, is ideal for getting flexibly to any construction site in residential areas.

Michael uses the U 530 for his business 70 percent of the time. For the remaining 30 percent the Unimog is used by other tradespeople: erecting walls for the carpenter or tearing off balconies for the core driller – Power Michael is always happy when he's needed. His Unimog U 530 is almost fully equipped. Above the trailer hitch he had an extra box fitted for ratchet straps and chains. A suitable ballast weight at the front provides the necessary stability. On the flatbed he always carries both the personnel basket and the pallet fork. "I'm always ready for action at a moment's notice, not dependent on anyone else, and can drive into any terrain at any time — and I'm guaranteed to be able to get back out of it with the Unimog," says Michael Bürsner happily.

He even conducts his employee recruiting very successfully within his own family: son Nico (6) is just as gripped by Unimog fever as his dad. Saturdays are father-and-son Unimog day — come what may! The second generation of bosses makes sure of that with a lot of determination.
