Love at first sight.
A Unimog to fall in love with: Michael Zuther, a rental provider of mobile work machines, has expanded his fleet with a top-equipped Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 530. The black all-rounder is not only a technical masterpiece but also a real eye-catcher — rented out by a man who lives and breathes agricultural machinery.
Unimog U 530 with full agricultural equipment becomes a rental vehicle.
Equipment: everything.
For Michael Zuther from Dannenberg in eastern Lower Saxony it was love at first sight: when, some time ago, his trusted Mercedes-Benz Unimog sales consultant drove up to him with the black agricultural Unimog U 530, he saw everything through rose-colored glasses. "The vehicle has everything – except a steerable rear axle. Otherwise it has everything. Really everything!" insists Michael Zuther, as if he can hardly believe it himself.
After the test drive the agricultural machinery rental operator was smitten. "But: the dear money," groaned Michael Zuther. At first he and his new love couldn't get together.
Zetros makes it possible.
However, when a Mercedes-Benz Zetros enthusiast bought one of his three Zetros — converted by Bruhns in Karstädt into a Secutor agricultural truck — for an "acceptable" price, the way was clear. This cleared the way for growth at Michael Zuther's company WendenTEC.
Front and rear power lifts, front and rear PTO shafts, a load-sensing hydraulic system, tyre pressure control, VarioPower drive in the 8-speed gearbox, rear camera – the new Unimog U 530 is no lightweight when it comes to technology. "The list of my optional equipment is so long that the Unimog's vehicle registration document needs three pages for all the entries. That doesn't happen often," Michael Zuther chuckles.
"The vehicle really has it all."
A hit with enthusiasts.
Especially the truck fifth-wheel coupling, which can be swapped for a K150 agricultural coupling, makes the Unimog U 530 even more versatile. The attachable hydraulic tipper body is also quickly ready for use. For WendenTEC's rental fleet, the Unimog is a perfect choice.
"My company is my hobby," says Michael Zuther. As a trained agricultural mechanic and a lover of historic vehicles, he takes even greater pleasure in renting the versatile all-rounder to his customers. His experience in grain technology helps: he knows the needs of agriculture.
For everyday practice during harvest and peak periods, WendenTEC's Unimog U 530 is perfectly equipped — and can be rented by the day or by the week. And because style must not be missing, Michael Zuther has given his black pride-and-joy white trim stripes on the fenders. "It just looks better." Who could resist this vehicle?
