The COVID-19 pandemic that has spread all over the world has affected all aspects in life, especially health and economic sectors. It is no wonder that fundraising programs and aids are conducted by many parties everywhere, even if it is only helping people to make a living. Besides the affected communities, medical personnel as the frontline of COVID-19 prevention surely need more attention, particularly in fulfilling the needed amount of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as the COVID-19 patients are increasing over the course of the time.

Therefore, after being committed to maintain the customers’ business of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in Indonesia by actively providing the network services and spare parts during the COVID-19 emergency situation, now PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI) and PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia (DCVMI) also give their support to all medical and health workers in handling the pandemic situation by donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of medical masks.

The medical masks donation is given to Cibinong Regional General Hospital in West Java, Indonesia and directly accepted by dr. Wahyudi Eko Widiharso, the Managing Director of Cibinong Regional General Hospital. During the press conference, the President Director of PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, Patrick Schwind, expresses his gratitude, “We would like to say thank you to all medical personnels who continue to fight as the front-liner with perseverance. It is not an easy task to do in the current condition and situation. Thus, we would do our best and keep supporting the people who have to stay alert in the middle of the pandemic by providing medical masks.”

In addition to medical masks donation, PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia is also committed to support the health workers and affected communities by performing various actions, one of them is donating the Sprinter Van to be used as Emergency Ambulance for the Health Agency in Jakarta in April 2020.

We hope that with our small actions, DCVMI can support all frontline workers, namely medical personnel who face the (COVID-19) situation every day.
