Task-oriented technology and low costs: these are the stand-out features of the Mercedes PowerShift 2 automated transmission installed as standard in the Actros, and the durable, economical BlueTec® engines which enable cost-effective compliance with Euro 5 requirements. Maintenance intervals of up to 120,000 km and optional engine oil change intervals of up to 150,000 km speak for themselves. Optionally available super-wide tyres on aluminium rims increase the payload and reduce rolling resistance. Also helping to reduce fuel consumption are the two-stage water pump¹, the compressed-air control system on air-sprung vehicles – for example the 4x2 semitrailer tractors – and the optional A-pillar panelling. The Actros Lowliner ensures the best possible payload/capacity ratio for international long-distance transport.
