Greater safety – as standard.

Protecting drivers, vehicles and other road users – the Actros comes with a wide range of safety components as standard equipment. Digital assistants don't relieve the driver of responsibility, but can effectively support him/her in critical situations. Example Active Brake Assist 5^{285, 287}: The vehicle can fully apply the brakes in response to stationary and moving objects in certain situations. It also comes with Lane Keep Assist²⁸⁷, Stability Control Assist²⁸⁷, Attention Assist²⁸⁷ and other digital assists such as MirrorCam^{1, 271, 287}.

A particularly dangerous situation is turning right in an urban location: here, within the system limits, the optional Active Sideguard Assist^{287, 1, 210} can warn the driver in certain situations and even trigger automatic braking.

Safety and assistance systems.

Active Brake Assist 5^{285, 287}.

Our trucks put safety first. That's why Active Brake Assist 5²⁸⁵, ²⁸⁷ comes as part of the standard equipment. It assists drivers²⁸⁷ in certain situations by initiating a full application of the brakes if stationary and moving objects are detected. It can also initiate a partial or full application of the brakes in response to moving pedestrians being detected – thus reducing the consequences of an accident or completely preventing one from happening in the first place.

Trailer Stability Assist^{287, 246}.

The system can increase road safety by pre-emptively braking the vehicle and trailer/semitrailer in a range of possible driving situations, thereby stabilising the vehicle combination.

Automatic main/dipped beam and cornering light function^{1, 243}.

This optional new headlamp system contributes to enhanced safety through improved illumination of the carriageway. Besides the LED daytime running lights, it also includes automatic switching between main beam and dipped beam, as well as an automatic cornering light and front fog lamps.

LED main headlamps¹

The daytime running lights, standing lights, dipped and high beam as well as the indicator are LED. This means especially high light emission with low energy consumption.

Parking brake, electronic.

It is automatically activated when the engine is turned off – but can also be turned on and off by operating the lever in the cockpit. To ensure an even greater level of safety, the electronic parking brake is also automatically activated in the event of the door being opened when the engine is running and the speed is 0 km/h.

LED tail lamps¹.

The new, optionally available LED tail lamps¹ make a decisive statement, notably thanks to the turn signal function which moves from the inside of the vehicle towards the outside to clearly signal the intended direction.

LED daytime running lamps²⁴³.

In conjunction with the characteristic Actros headlamps with a headlamp surround in titanium grey, the new LED daytime running lamps²⁴³ with an integrated indicator lamp help to improve recognition of the vehicle during the daytime for enhanced safety. It also dims automatically when the headlights are set to dipped beam.
