Series: 4-Xtremes – The World Tour
The first adventure for three
Mike and Andrea are on an epic tour in their Axor. But the greatest adventure starts now as they begin travelling as a three.
Hey Roadstars, last time we checked in we were in the dry north of Argentina. This time we are only one valley along in the Tucumán region – and suddenly everything is lusciously green. In Tafi del Valle we enjoyed summery weather, but in this next valley the climate is much more tropical and very reminiscent of Costa Rica. Surrounded by mountains, we find an amazing variety of fruits here – everything from strawberries to dragon fruit.
Warm gestures and hot tyres
In the city of Tucumán, we replenish our supplies and visit the old sugarcane museum. Once again on the road, we meet many friendly Mercedes-Benz truck drivers who always wave to us. Our route continues to Santiago del Estero, where we visit the famous MotoGP race track and the associated museum – a welcome change from the many kilometres on the road.

A new chapter begins
Finally, we reach the mountains of Córdoba, where we park up at a peaceful reservoir for the last time as a twosome. Because soon things are going to change: Andrea is very pregnant. Which is why we park our loyal Axor for two months and move into an apartment in the city. Time flies, and after the birth of our daughter Zoe and a few adjustments to the sleeping arrangements, we are now on our way as a family.

Axor baby on board!
Our first destination as a family is the capital of Buenos Aires. There, we apply for Zoe’s passport and explore the province while we wait. We camp in idyllic villages and by picturesque lakes, where curious capybaras come and say hello. We’re soon at home in the truck as a three and continue our journey towards Uruguay and Brazil.
Have any of you ever been on the road in a truck with children? Tell us about it in the comments!

4-Extremes – The World Tour.
Andrea and Mike Kammermann have been on the road in their Expedition Axor since June 2020. From the northernmost point of Norway to the Canary Islands, the Swiss couple has visited large parts of Europe and even made a detour to Tunisia. Distance covered on the road: 83,000 kilometres!
Especially due to pandemic-related restrictions, further destinations were unreachable – until now: From now on, Andrea and Mike will be discovering South America. Stay tuned to see what happens next! The current tour is the second one that the Swiss couple has embarked on in their Axor. In 2018 and 2019, they travelled to more than 20 countries and covered a good 47,000 kilometres.
