RoadStars Driving Experience 2026
Two days full of impressions, emotions and driving fun.
On 17 and 18 April, the Mercedes-Benz Trucks plant in Wörth am Rhein opened its doors for the first RoadStars Driving Experience of 2026.
48 members of the RoadStars community from various countries across Europe took the opportunity to get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look – and experienced two days that were all about hands-on technology, open exchange, and community.
Already on arrival it was palpable: this event is clearly more than a classic driving event. In the newly redesigned Customer Experience Centre, the participants immediately immersed themselves in the world of Mercedes‑Benz Trucks. During the shared lunch in the Truck Lounge and the official welcome, the group got into the mood for the upcoming programme – open, curious and full of anticipation.

Dialogue on an equal footing.
The Meet-the-Experts sessions kicked off the program. At various stations, RoadStars were able to engage directly with experts from engineering and market research. In a relaxed atmosphere, questions were asked, experiences from everyday life on the road were shared, and concrete suggestions for improvement were discussed.
The dialogue demonstrated how valuable truckers' experiences on the road are for tomorrow's development and how both sides benefit from the mutual exchange.

A look behind the scenes – from modern manufacturing to true classics.
Afterwards, the tour continued through the largest Mercedes‑Benz Trucks truck assembly plant. The guided tour provided fascinating insights into complex production processes, highly precise operations and the interplay between people and technology.
After the behind-the-scenes look it turned nostalgic: participants were able to drive selected classic vehicles and experience first-hand what truck driving used to feel like. A variety of different models and products were available to choose from, making the development of technology, driving comfort and handling directly comparable. The selected classic vehicles made many people's hearts beat faster.
After the impressions of the first day, the group went for a final get-together: a brewery tour at Höpfner Burghof in Karlsruhe. After an exciting tour, the evening wound down with delicious food and good conversations.
A driving experience between yesterday and tomorrow.
Well refreshed, the next day we went to the safety training at the Development and Testing Centre in Wörth. Here the contrast between the historic vehicles from the previous day and the modern trucks became particularly clear. Full emergency stops with a loaded tractor‑trailer, evasive manoeuvres and other practical exercises were on the programme under the professional guidance of the driver trainers. The safety training demanded full attention – and produced genuine aha moments.
After lunch came another highlight: the test drives in the eActros 600 and Actros L. Behind the wheel, the RoadStars were able to directly compare handling, drivetrain and comfort.
