Let’s start with ourselves: in the coming years, we will fully electrify delivery traffic to our German Mercedes-Benz Trucks plants. In total, our locations are currently equipped with 21 rapid charging stations. Even now, 20% of the production material transport ordered directly by us is electrically driven. In 2024 alone, around 2 million kilometres were covered electrically on 40 different routes, saving 7,500 tonnes of CO₂e. A real service to the environment, especially when the trucks are charged using green electricity, which is already available as standard in our factories.

One special feature is our fast charging park in Wörth. Here, participating freight forwarders can charge their vehicles from the eActros fleet around the clock at our 6 rapid charging stations.

Future ex works – the photovoltaic campaign

Innovations are not only advanced under our roofs, but also on it: we rely on sustainable energy generation through photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our truck plants. One example is Wörth, where 8 plants generate around 4,300 MWh of electricity each year. This is equivalent to the consumption of 1,000 four-person households. Our Aksaray site produces as much as 11,000 MWh of solar power annually.

Efficiency as an overall concept

We know this: you can't just talk about sustainability. You have to make it happen. With our plant in Wörth, we are showing how this is done: From the digitisation of building technology to the energy-efficient refurbishment of the ventilation system and the conversion of office lighting to LED, we have been able to implement energy efficiency measures from 2021 to 2024, which reduce CO₂ emissions by approx. 3,400 tonnes annually.
