Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach spent two years building their first truck, which was completed in 1896 and sold to England. With its Phoenix two‑cylinder engine it could already carry a 1.5‑tonne payload. The sales brochure from the same year already offered four different weight classes of this truck. As an optional extra, a foot heater was even available. Our vehicle is an exact reconstruction based on original engine parts and the original documentation. Unfortunately, the original has been lost.
