Construction
Construction partners
He is a construction site worker through and through. And no one can outdo him there: Jürgen Kleineidam is the founder and boss of KBM Baumaschinen in Creglingen in the Main‑Tauber district. He learned his trade from the ground up: it all began with an apprenticeship as a concrete worker. He has worked in all weathers. He has had good times on the construction sites in his hometown of Aurach in Middle Franconia. That is also where he developed his fondness for all kinds of construction machinery and heavy equipment. In the meantime his workplace has long since become more comfortable: he alternates between his two executive chairs — one in his office and the other in his silver‑grey Unimog U 430.

Specialist for special equipment
The Kleineidams are a real family-run company: father, mother, son and daughter take care of their customers' concerns. A vibrating plate here, a wheel loader there. A heavy crawler excavator over there, a lightweight mini excavator over here. Whether private builders or professional colleagues who need a special piece of equipment at short notice – the clientele is varied. "We've even had a dentist who had a digger sent to his property," says Jürgen Kleineidam.
Where the equipment had previously been delivered by semitrailer tractor, the Unimog now leads the vehicle fleet. "Taking the semitrailer tractor through the forest to the photovoltaic open‑field construction site – that wasn't ideal," explains Kleineidam. However, it took a while before they got the nimble and flexible Unimog. "It was a real coincidence."
"While on holiday we happened to end up at an agricultural show. My wife and our daughter lingered with the horses. My son and I were drawn to the machinery. We looked at all sorts of things until my son discovered the Unimog. 'That's exactly what we need,' he said."

A tailor-made solution.
The Kleineidam family deliberated. They did so several times. And when Herold, the Würzburg Unimog general agency, then put an unbeatable offer for the perfectly matched U 430 on the table, the decision was clear: the semi-trailer truck had to make way for a Unimog.
For KBM Baumaschinen, which deliver and collect within a radius of 200 kilometres, the decision has paid off: "The Unimog tows everything we need to tow." The height-adjustable Scharmüller coupling is therefore the most important feature of the new U 430.
