The year 2026 marks a significant anniversary for Daimler Trucks: 130 years ago, in 1896, Gottlieb Daimler presented the world’s first truck. This groundbreaking pioneering achievement not only laid the foundation for modern freight transport and a new era of mobility, but also for the success story of the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks brand. The campaign around this fascinating historical development celebrates the vision that gave rise to the truck. It traces the path from the initial invention to formative innovations, such as the Mercedes‑Benz Actros, which in 1996, as the prototype of the modern truck, played a decisive role in shaping the development of the transport industry and continues to set standards today.

Since the Actros came onto the market in 1996, the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks flagship has repeatedly drawn attention with remarkable innovations — and in doing so has played a decisive role in shaping the development of modern delivery traffic. In the year of its 30th anniversary, we look back.
