Unimog
Welcome to paradise
Which child — or which adult — wouldn't want to be locked in here for a night so they could take a quiet look around, marvel, and wander through the workshop with wide eyes? Don't touch anything, of course! This is the ScaleART manufactory in Waldsee in Rhineland-Palatinate. Here, south of Mannheim, around 30 employees are busy year-round producing genuine treasures — practically real gold treasures.
Manufactory ScaleART builds Unimog high-end models.
The benchmark in model building.
The family-owned company produces high-end vehicle models at a scale of 1:14.5. Mainly trucks: tractor units, articulated lorries, low loaders, tippers and construction machinery. The ultimate showstopper: the highly off-road-capable Unimog of the 437 model series in various configurations. Anyone who hasn't yet seen a ScaleART model doesn't know what's possible in model making.
The greatness in the small.
The team around managing director and company founder Bernd Brand has perfected model making in a way that is unmatched worldwide. Each of the countless individual parts of the metal Unimog model, which weighs just over five kilograms, has been reconstructed and reproduced to match the original part. Even the distinctive vehicle frame of the Unimog model corresponds to the original down to the smallest detail.
At ScaleART a distinction is made between static and functional models. The former have no gearboxes or electronics and are for display, the latter come with a specially produced remote control, drive, sound module with real Unimog sound and, of course, fully functional lighting for use on the model construction site.
Attach like in real life.
Three-way tipper, remote-controlled Palfinger loader crane, front and rear hydraulic lifts – there is nothing here that you wouldn't also find on a real Unimog. The almost unbelievable thing: vehicles with loader cranes have remote-controlled outriggers that then automatically level the vehicle, just like "in real life" — hydraulically, with an oil pressure of 15 bar. Of course.
In the ScaleART online shop you can buy — as in the original accessories list — whatever your heart desires: trailer couplings, various grippers for the loading crane, fog lights, a diesel tank with an AdBlue tank and a snowplough blade. Anyone who spends some time browsing and indulging in the ScaleART world is only a few scale steps removed from the real world.
