Mercedes-Benz Trucks at IFAT 2026
Possible solutions for the circular economy of tomorrow: In May 2026 the environmental sector will meet in Munich. Mercedes-Benz Trucks will be there and will show on site how technological maturity and ecological responsibility go hand in hand in day-to-day municipal operations. Find out here — and at the exhibition stand — what the Unimog U 530 with the UNI‑TOUCH® control system can do and how electrically powered vehicles are already being used in municipal service today.
That was #IFAT 2026!
It's worth stopping by.
From 4 to 7 May 2026, the Munich exhibition centre was once again transformed into the central meeting point for the environmental sector. Visitors had the opportunity to experience the innovations from Mercedes-Benz Trucks not just on paper but in person. The Mercedes-Benz Trucks stand offered exciting insights, personal conversations and numerous highlights around future-oriented mobility solutions.

Workflows made easy.
The demands on municipal equipment carriers are constantly increasing – the Unimog U 530 is the answer. The heart of the cab is the UNI‑TOUCH® system, which simplifies complex work processes with its swivelling 10.5‑inch touch monitor and ergonomic controls. It enables the driver to individually tailor the vehicle to his needs for year‑round operation.

reEconic – concept vehicle for the circular economy.
Another highlight at the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks stand is the reECONIC — a concept vehicle developed as part of a joint project by Mercedes‑Benz Trucks, FAUN Umwelttechnik and 31 other partners that demonstrates a holistic approach to the circular economy in commercial vehicle manufacturing. It is based on the battery-electric eEconic, which here has been consistently geared towards conserving resources and closed material cycles. What is special is that, as a waste collection vehicle, it not only gathers materials for recycling but is at the same time itself made from recycled and recyclable materials.
In this way it symbolises the close interlinking of procurement, production and recycling processes. The project made use, among other things, of reclaimed materials from industrial material cycles to show how sustainable material concepts can be transferred into series production in the future.
