Proven, reimagined.
Practical for smaller winemakers without their own bottling machine: Martin Englhart, a viticulture technician from Austria, overhauled a decommissioned bottling line and mounted it on a technically fully equipped Unimog U 219. Since then he has been driving what is probably Austria's most spectacular mobile bottling plant from one winery to the next. Practical for smaller winemakers without their own bottling machine: his "wine wagon" also shines in terms of comfort, driving safety and transport volume.

Bottling plant to go.
Martin Englhart from Austria is a viticulture technician. In the course of his work he repeatedly came into contact with bottling systems whose technology fascinated him. He had often imagined being able to help smaller winemakers with his own mobile system. And as often happens in life, things turned out the way they were meant to. Eventually Martin heard about the decommissioned mobile bottling plant of the Maschinenring in Spitz in the Wachau.

The unit was for sale in an alarmingly poor condition. That was Martin's chance: it took half a year to get the machine back up and running. Martin turned the entire machine inside out — and back again. Only the frame — and its intended area of use — remained.
Everything else was rethought, rebuilt, optimized and in some parts completely redesigned according to his own ideas. In the end, Martin Engelhart, together with his helpers, put what is probably Austria's most spectacular mobile filling plant onto a chassis — a plant that, aside from its impressive appearance, also sets standards in quality and efficiency.
Fully equipped.
After two years and many thousands of kilometres on the tractor, however, it became necessary to invest in additional comfort, driving safety and transport capacity to cope with the sometimes long distances across Lower Austria and Burgenland. After all, up to three bottlings are scheduled per day during the season! This also explains the full technical specification of the smallest Unimog model, a U 219, including an engine, a power take-off drive with a front power take-off shaft, front and rear power lifts, a differential lock on the front axle and extensive additional lighting.

Dedicated to comfort are the driver's suspension seat, the automated transmission and several all-round cameras that support centimeter-precise maneuvering. To make even better use of the qualities of the new Unimog, which — to achieve maximum maneuverability — was delivered with the smallest tires, the filling plant is to be fitted with an additional truck axle and thereby obtain approval for motorway use. Cheers.
