Remanufacturing old parts uses fewer raw materials and less energy than producing new parts. This saving is passed on to you as a price cut of approx. 30%.

The cycle of used parts and remanufactured parts at Mercedes‑Benz Trucks works on the basis of a deposit return system. If you need a Mercedes‑Benz Trucks Genuine Remanufactured Part, your dealer can send the old part removed from your vehicle to us and you will receive a deposit for it. The value is determined based on predefined criteria. The removed parts are then sent to the plant for remanufacturing and can then be used again as Mercedes‑Benz Trucks Genuine Remanufactured Parts, just like any other Genuine Part from Mercedes‑Benz Trucks.

We accept removed parts depending on their quality and condition.

The following are not permitted:

1. Parts with mechanical damage, e.g. due to fractures, cracks or deformations
2. Incomplete or disassembled parts
3. Parts with extensive corrosion
4. Oil-contaminated or oil-filled parts (drain oil beforehand and remove heavy soiling)

Producing Mercedes‑Benz Trucks Genuine Remanufactured Parts uses much less energy and fewer valuable raw materials than producing new parts. This amounts to thousands of tonnes and tens of thousands of megawatt hours per year.² The independent testing organisation TÜV Süd has measured this very accurately and produced a life cycle assessment. For example, remanufacturing even a single OM 906 diesel engine saves 527 kg of carbon dioxide and 7.248 MJ of energy compared to producing a new one.
