A familiar team is taking new paths: the eActros 300 complements the fleet of Kerschner Umweltservice und Logistik GmbH. Fifty-five commercial vehicles are already in operation, and now the battery-electric truck has joined them. On board: a body from the Austrian manufacturer Stummer. The extensive everyday test ran for two weeks. It showed that the rounds were consistently reliable and the vehicle proved itself in practical use.

The eActros is now being put into permanent service. For managing director Reinhard Kerschner this is more than a step — it is a statement. He believes in the future of battery-electric trucks, and he is determined to convert the entire fleet to this form of propulsion.

The eActros 300 brings the necessary endurance for municipal collection services. Three battery packs deliver 336 kilowatt hours. This allows the vehicle to complete day tours without an intermediate charge. The eAxle with two integrated motors delivers power to the road. When accelerating, the truck demonstrates its power.

The superstructure is also convincing. Stummer uses the energy from the high-voltage system directly. An additional generator is not necessary, which saves weight and increases efficiency.

In everyday use, the eActros delivers further advantages. The quiet powertrain reduces noise – for drivers and residents. At the same time, modern safety technology ensures improved protection on the road. The turning assistant can help to detect hazards early. The active brake assist of the fifth generation helps to detect people even in dense urban traffic. This ensures that safety is the top priority on every operation.

Kerschner is investing in the transition. The new company headquarters in the Melk district is equipped with photovoltaic modules and pre-equipped parking spaces for additional electric trucks. Battery storage systems are also planned to increase the use of self-generated electricity.

Already ordered: two more eActros 300 semitrailer tractors for shuttle service. And soon another vehicle with a hooklift will follow. The direction is clear – Kerschner is going electric with vehicles from Daimler Truck.
