Many cows are hard work.
A real family business – in fact the third largest in "Meck-Pomm": To cultivate their huge fields of maize and grass, the Schulz family relies on heavy equipment. The brand-new Unimog U 535 with its 345 hp is just the ticket! The all-rounder supports the farm's 40-strong team, among other things, in transporting feed. The more than 1,000 cows on the farm are still hard work, but with the Unimog the job is easier.

The Schulz family optimizes their farm business with the Unimog U 535.
To supply 500 young cattle and 800 dairy cows with the best feed every day requires vast areas of land that must be cultivated. Andreas Schulz from Ahrenshagen-Daskow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has developed a substantial operation for this purpose: together with his 40-strong team he cultivates 1,000 hectares of grass and maize fields. Founded as an LPG (agricultural production cooperative) in GDR times, he took over the operation in 1991 with a modest stake. Today ADAP Rinderzucht GmbH is 100 percent owned by him and his daughter Christine Schulz.
What was once an agricultural production cooperative has long since become a real family business – mind you, the third largest in "Meck-Pomm". Daughter Christine has joined the company and is its managing director. After her twelve years in the German armed forces, it was only natural for her to bring her expertise as a logistics expert to the family business. Her knowledge, which she most recently gained at an air transport wing, is now, of course, worth its weight in gold. "As a soldier I most enjoyed driving the Unimog. I have been enthusiastic about this vehicle from day one," enthuses Christine Schulz.
Everyone is delighted: the Unimog U 535 gets the feed out faster than a conventional tractor.
Logistics with the Unimog: simply optimal.
For Christine Schulz, it was obvious to also optimize the farm's operational logistics: "Conventional agricultural tractors are not designed for long distances on country roads. That wears down the tire tread and wastes fuel. With the Unimog we can now bring in the feed much more efficiently." A staggering 25,000 liters of milk are produced by the cows every day. With 2- and 3-axle trailers from Annaburger, dozens of tons of fresh feed and silage can be efficiently hauled in on the hook every day.

Not to forget: supplying the two biogas plants that the Schulz family also operates. The new Unimog U 535 with 345 hp in green is a real asset to the farm. It is equipped with agricultural tyres, a tyre pressure control system and a custom-made grain hopper that even projects above the cab. For safety reasons, two rotating beacons were fitted to the roof. An ideal configuration, then, for the cattle-breeding operation way up in the northeast – between Rostock and Stralsund.
